Carmel, CA – Saturday, November 24th, 2012 at 6:30 P.M., The Community of Carmel Mission Basilica kicked off a yearlong celebration, honoring the life and contributions of Blessed Junipero Serra. The 300th celebration will consist of a number of events throughout the year including Saturday night's reception gala with silent and live auctions. Leon Panetta served as the keynote speaker, along with the honorable Jorge Montealegre, Consul General of Spain.
